Woolwich Statements?

Hello,
Hopefully I have posted this in the right section (sorry if not).
I am trying to obtain Bank Statements from an old Woolwich account I used to have.
As Barclays took over the Woolwich I assumed they would have them on file. However, after requesting them I received a letter stating they did not have them that far back (2000).
Does anyone know how I get hold of old Woolwich statements?
Thanks in advance
Drew

I think they only have to keep financial details for six years, so if you're wanting statements that are ten years old then you're probably out of luck.
If you haven't used the account for ten years then all you might be able to get is the current balance. If it was closed ten years ago then all record of it might have been deleted by now.0 -
Hi EarthBoy
Thanks for the reply. Ah if that is the case then it looks like I dont have much hope.
Pretty gutting because it means I'm going to lose out on 2 weeks money for redundancy (I'm trying to prove that I was employed before they say I was).
Thanks again0 -
Could try National insurance records.
Did you join a pension
I guess you don't you keep payslips and p60s?0 -
Thanks for the reply. I wouldn't have kept the payslip (even if I got one), but I might have a p60. Would that be proof of employment? I only ask because the company could say that it relates to a different company.0

Have you got a union rep that could help you?0
