Impatient Buyers!

This is more a rant than a question, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone has experienced a more impatient buyer than this?

7.30pm Thursday 25th November - auction ends

9am Friday 26th November buyer pays via paypal (plan was to post during lunchtime this day if they paid immediately but I was already in work at this point)

10pm Friday 26th November - I get a message "please tell me when I will receive my item, answer ASAP".

10am Saturday morning - I post parcel

Saturday evening - I discover the "where is my item" message, and reply saying it was posted that morning. Recieve an immediate "thank you" from buyer.

11.30pm Sunday evening - they attempt to open a case against me!! Discovered following message this morning:

"Dear *******,

A buyer tried to open an eBay Buyer Protection case because the item hasn't arrived yet. It was too soon to open a case, so we asked the buyer to contact you. If you haven't already heard from the buyer, we recommend you get in touch with the buyer. Most issues can be worked out through email or a simple phone call."

I don't understand some people at all!!

Can't avoid them really, just add to the blocked list.

  • It gets better... just noticed that even though the message from Ebay came through yesterday, the date they attempted to open the case was Friday - the same day they paid!
  • Be weary of them! I would email them asking them why they had tried to open a case the same day they paid (ask in a nice way), just so they know that you are suspicious of them. If they "do not get the item" or leave bad feedback, get in touch with ebay. I have had problems before and ebay are really helpful in resolving issues.

It's possible the dozy baffoon has made some multiple purhcases on eBay and somehow got confused with what they won and when. It's amazing how many idiots can't seem to employ common sense....but can bid on eBay!

Just notch this one up to a dim wit and add them to the blocked buyers list.

I do get that now and again. Someone pays late at night and then gets annoyed that I haven't sent the item the next morning. Strangely enough I don't have much inclination to check my e-mails and wrap up parcels before I leave for work at 7am... One guy even wanted to know why I couldn't go back home at lunchtime and get the parcel! Obviously in his world everyone works around the corner from their house. I put it down to the fact that some people just find it hard to put themselves in someone else's shoes.

I have used the "resolve a problem" option on ebay for a couple of items I have bought that haven't arrived yet.

I use it because it shows when you should expect to receive your item, or at least what date to wait until.

But, when I have used this option in the past, I have received prompt and abrupt messages from the sellers asking me "what my problem is", "why have I opened a case without contact", etc.... When I haven't opened or tried to open a case at all.

Similar here, the best I can do is the day after payment with any payments received before around 10:30pm or any payments received before 11:00am on a saturday.

As it is I can't even get near ebay at work as its blocked.

As it is most people understand I am not a business so I can't drop everything to post items, with that I do list my items with a handling time of 3 days, by all means things usually go quicker but its not always possible. With that I do mostly sell with BIN's so I can't predict when things will sell and I don't think my boss would like my box of ebay stuff in the office.
