Hi
I am thinking of joning autoaid but am unsure on few things- can someone help out please:
1- what happens if car breaks down on a road- do they attempt to repair the car on road or just offer recovery to a garage.
2- if recovery is required, where do they take you to? Do they give you any options or take you to nearest garage in their network.
3- Finally if recovery is required on Sunday night i.e. when all garages will be closed, I presume they take you and car to your home, but then what happens. Is it our responsibility to get car to a garage next day morning?
Thanks
J

1) I believe "rescue" is included i.e. attempting to fix your car at the roadside.
2) I've always found most companies to be accomdating. One day we were out with (disabled) parents and they dropped them off on the way home. Providing your request is reasonable then there should be no problem. So if you preferred one garage over another locally then it should not be an issue.
If you were expecting them to go hundreds of miles out of their way then that would be an issue. I've had my car taken 13 miles to my own garage when there were garges much closer.
But I think you have to be reasonable with the distance.
3) My experience is that last few years that they will not leave cars unattended. So they take you home then come out again the next morning to take the car in working hours. You might have to get up early and call them out again.
AutoAid are a very reasonable company anecdotally so they are not the kind of company to be picky over small print.0 -

Unfortunately I've not got my policy booklet nearby but they are normally reasonable.3- Finally if recovery is required on Sunday night i.e. when all garages will be closed, I presume they take you and car to your home, but then what happens. In my case my local garage is about 3 streets away. So when I had trouble with my old car if it happened on a Sunday night I would have got recovered home then called the local garage out to deal with it. As that's what they stated I should do. However as I'm in an area with 4 garages in close proximity they all want to keep their customers.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
