Car insurance dilema?

Options
Hi all my car insurace is due for renewal on the 8th December however we should be shortly moving to our new house although we haven't a completion date yet! Now to add a further spanner in the works we're off on a weeks holiday on December 4th so don't need the car till December 11th! What should I do shall I just get insurance on 11th December hoping we're in our new house are should I just get 12 months insurance at my current abode knowing that it will probably cost to change to the new house? It's a dilema :o

If your car is parked on the road it will need insurance.

Where is your car going to be parked whilst your on holiday?

In an airport car park? road? or private garage/driveway?

have you had a new renewal quote based on the new address? just to get an idea if there is an increase or decrease in premium?

If it's on the public road then it needs insurance.
You could look for a policy with reaasonable amendement feess.
You should check for quotes that are competitive at the new address, don't get one that's compettitive at the existing address only to find it's uncompetitive for the other 51 weeks.

Another alternative is parking on a driveway but you need to be aware you won't be covered for fire or theft.

A further alternative is getting some short term cover with a company like days insure. This might be worth it if it looks to be cheaper than any amendement fees.

A further alternative is to consult a high st broker. With their connections I wonder if they might be able to get the fees waived in order to gain the business??
