Roof Condensation

Hello

I have recently moved into a 3 bed detached property built in the sixties and have condensation in the loft space. The roof insulation was pushed well into the roof edges and seems to have been like that for some time. There is newish pvc facia boards around the outside of the property for which there does not appear to be any vents. Some of the inner felt is torn but i have been told the problem is with the lack of air flow.Since removing the insulation from the roof egdes and keeping the loft hatch adjar the situation has improved .Do i need roof vents fitted ,air bricks or both .The problem is occuring mostly on one side of the property .Can anyone recommend a roofing firm in the Wolverhampton area with a good reputation .thanks
