Hi All,
I'm back again.
First off I have to say well done and congratulations to those declaring their December spends - some fantastic acheivements this month. :T:T:T And remember, over or under you can guarantee it would have been a lot more if you hadn't been watching.
Well we've come under budget as I don't anticipate any more food being bought tomorrow. So total for December is £236.47 which is £23.53 under the increased budget I set for us. Very pleased with that although had we needed to buy a turkey that would probably have taken most of that underspend so the budget was about right.
ETA: The total actual spend for the period we've been doing the GC, Mar-Dec, is £2279.70 well under the budgetted amount of £2490 for the period.
The spend in town today included the kitten food at £31.99 from the local Pet Shop which could have waited until Monday but as it's a BH decided to get it today instead. OH and I just checked back on the spreadsheet to compare the cost to us for this between the old 1.5kg packs and the new 5kg. Between 11th August and 14th September we spent £51.96 (4 packs @ £12.99) so about a month (34 days). We bought the first 5kg on 9th October and the second on 20th November so about 41 days on just £31.99. :j That's a pretty impressive saving I think. :money:
OK, I'll be checking back in to December as others update but will mostly be on the January thread now. See you there.
Oh and a Very Happy New Year one and all. :dance:_party_:laugh:
Take care,

Hi All
I've been away for a while over Christmas and haven't completely kept track of my spends I'm ashamed to say. I'm declaring around £147.00 for December.
Oh well - Christmas was lovely, and It was nice to see family. I do think that I must smell though because I received SO many toiletry gift sets! They will keep me going until at least summer I reckon! :rotfl:
Anyway - I'm going over to find Januarys thread now. To those who have come in within budget - well done - I admire you! For those who haven't, I'm in good company, and there's always another month. At least we're all tryingGrocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Looks like DH has thrown my receipts away for December but I'm going to take a guess at £300 which is nearly twice what I was hoping for
:
Oh well at least I now have twelve months to try and get a bit more organised - ha ha as if :rotfl:0 -
Hope you all had a lovely christmas !!
All the best for 2011
Well this year has been a real tester for me in terms of budgeting for the year. But i reckoned up and with lots of spending i.e restaurants/take away etc it came to quite a lot.
So i set myself up for £2000 from Jan to Dec 2010 and just checked figures etc and we have spent a whopping £1432.95 :T.
I'm actually quite pleased with that.
Well done to everyone !!
I;m off to the new thread, see you all over there.

Crikey, done a tot up and am ashamed to admit my totals (knew I'd lost the plot BUT...) £401.42/£200 really must try to get back on the band wagon next month. I've had my Mum staying with us who is convinced it will be her last christmas so I have been throwing caution to the wind and the house is stuffed with food. Happy New Year to you all!!I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Declaring at £206.45 for December. My budget was £250 so I am under. THere are a couple of small pop-in shops but that I lost the receipts for but they were for no more than a fiver, so still within budget.
Will go back to £200 for January's challenge.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt
August GC £0/£3000 -
Can I declare £300.48 for Jan please, this is £24.52 under the budget so very pleased. :T
Made some soup last night with the beef stock from the rib we had on Christmas day and used some onions, swede, carrots, potatoes, celery and broccoli stalks. There is enough left for today and tomorrow.
Like I said in previous post loads in the freezer due to not being well and DH going into hospital (he is still in) plus we have nearly a full sack of potatoes, milk, and dog food in for at least 3 weeks.
since joining this thread earlier this year I have managed to save a few ££'s and am really pleased, so THANK YOU to everyone on here who has posted, made suggestions and helped in numerous ways. I wouldnt have done it without you - would have still been spending £100+ per week in the sm and not having much to show for it.
Heres to 2011 being even more frugal and more money being saved by us all even with the VAT increase
Wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year. xx BJ & Co.:kisses3:MARCH £62.38/2500 -
