British Gas late in boiler check

Options
We have insurance with British Gas to cover our boiler and all central heating. This includes one boiler service each year. Every year they get later and later. It used to be done in July, now it's nearly December and they haven't contacted us yet.

If they do this with everyone they must be saving a fortune in labour hours. I am about to contact them to remind them but I do think this is a con trick!

I have this cover too. I phone them around the same time each year.
  • The try to call you three times, then if there is no contact made they send you a card asking you to get in touch, but obviously if they don't have your correct number, they can miss this, and people do slip through the net - check what cover you have though, as a couple of the newer levels don't include a service.

  • Thanks to all who replied to me. In the past I have always received a letter to tell me they are coming to do the service. The last couple of years I have had a letter inviting me to make my own appointment online. I preferred this as I had a two hour window instead of am or pm.

I will be phoning them later to arrange the service.

We've been insured with them for years. For the past year or so they've emailed us about service checks. I'll get in touch with them, though. Thanks!

Cant you wipe the case yourself?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • they have canceled twice on me was told last time someone would be in touch that was 2 weeks ago poor service
