Recently, i have tried to apply for a student credit card with natwest, with who i already have a student account but i got rejected, but they didn't tell me why. I'm in the the 4th year of university now.
I opened a experion 30 day trial and it says that i have a 8 pounds outstanding debt with natwest. This was in the period where i didnt have a student loan and was around 8 pounds in my overdraft for 2 months between september to october. i did not use my account between september to October either. and i got my student loan on the 12th November
Are they in the wrong or is this normal practice to tell the credit report that i was 8 pounds outstanding on my overdraft?
if this would not have affected my credit rating, is there a possibility that Thames water passed on information? I got a final notification with the final bill but i paid that and when i was paying the bills, i payed every two months instead of every month.
My sister told me that they were in the wrong, and that i have to get the information wiped but i am aware that they would update the details at a certain date each month, so my outstanding balance should be zero, but my credit rating would still be quite low.
Any advice on what to do? is my credit rating that bad? i assume that as a student, i should easily be able to get a credit card.
