Questionabout energy saving and modem routers...

Not sure if this should be in the energy saving green threads or here but is techie related.
In my quest to stop leaving electical items on standby I am also switching off (at the plug) my modem router (along with all the other computer stuff).
However, I am having problems getting it to connect back to the intenet again each time - so - is switching it off and back on (sometimes more than once per 24 hours) actually doing it more harm?
It's a Netgear router.

I also switch my Netgear off at the wall when I'm not using the pc. Never causes any problems.
I always however ensure that I switch my router on before my pc, giving the router time to get an ip address from the pc.
Switch your router on then wait about 30secs to 1min before switching your pc on.0 -
or do an ipconfig /renew
