It sounds like a business contract. Without a written contract you have very little in the way of rights I am afraid.
Your best approach would be finding out why he has done this and how you could potentially solve these problems. I suspect it will come down to money though or him having a friend/family who wants to use the cab instead.0 -

Thanks for reply.Infact somebody is giving him more rent money. Is there anyway i can go to court or OFT or someother department.Thanks0

OFT etc are not interested
Courts would only decide if a contract had been breached which isnt the case.
I am afraid your going to learn a nasty lesson here. By having no contract you have little rights. Your option may well be to pay the extra rent and put in a place a proper contract to protect you.0 -
It sounds unusual but in cab thing in manchester there is never been any written contracts none so ever0

No matter what the problem is, your local Citizens Advice Centre might be worth trying.
I think there are local taxi associations too: there is definitely one for London.
Googling "hackney cab driver" + rent or similar might pull out some useful forums too.
You might get some advice from other taxi drivers on MSE if you post on the Small Business forum here: I am sure I have seen posts by people in this profession.
Even if they all say the same thing - no contract no case - you would know that you had done everything possible.
I do hope that you get a good outcome - and with a written contract too. Taking the cab back without notice is not ethical.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?
