ive just moved into a new rented flat and i have found a problem with the central heathing
the radiatirs are hot all over when you touch them but they are not convectng any heat into the room even when you stand rough in front of them
if i put my hand over the top of the radiator is only feels slightly warm and the same when i wave my hand over the front of the radiator
the radiators do not have any cold spot on them and have been bleed
any ideas as this is ridiculous and am now awaiting a reply from the landlord as to what he is going to do about it
my flat is like a freezer

Are you giving them an hour or so to warm the room?
Have you turned up the temperature of the heating circuit on the boiler?0 -
yes turned the heat on the boilerr to full and have left them on for 3 hours or more with no joy0

The rads should be too hot to put your hand on. If not, and if you have checked the rad valves and any TRV's on them to ensure that they are open, and the boiler temp is set high, then most probable a boiler issue
If the rads are really hot, and the room is cold, then the rads may be undersized0 -
If the rads are really hot, and the room is cold, then the rads [STRIKE]may be[/STRIKE] are almost certainly undersized. Skinflint LL!

mmmm i thought of that the rads may be too small for the room the one radiator in the room is 119 x 60 cm long under the window and the room is 5 times the length of the radiator and 3 times the width and the room is about 2.3m high
as a temp measure what kind of heater would heat up this room
i brought a 2kw convetor heater but that is no good0 -
Check they are hot at the top. If not, let the air out of the radiator at one of the topr corners using a radiator key. Be careful to do it when cold though as you can scald yourself if the rd's hot. Do it slowly - you'll hear the air hissing out, followed by a few drops pf water whe it's all gone. Then tighten up again.“When the customer comes first, the customer will last”0
