My philosophy is that any product or service that needs to be sold door-to-door can't be much good. It's a sign of desperation on the seller's part.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

That explains you stance on this. You must agree that your industry hasn't the best of reputations. So many times door-to-door reps have been found to by lying or using high-pressure sales techniques. By the way, what particular product or service to you sell?

Ive sold a number of things and yes i admit i have worked with some who are pressure sellers and you tend to find they don't last in jobs long
it doesn't have the best reputation as more people will talk about bad service then good

its so easy to vilify people like me but were not all the same

I would say that you should NEVER, EVER buy anything through a cold caller at the door on on the phone.

Way to risky these days, and there is a 99% chance you could get the product or service cheaper by researching and buying it yourself (if you actually need it LOL).

  • I called the police on a young man who told my wife if she didn't give him all of our details and sign his piece of paper he would get her electricity cut off.

We are retired, but not particularly elderly. However, my wife has been undergoing some gruelling chemotherapy treatment lately, and is not as on the ball as she would be at other times.

When I returned and told him in no uncertain terms to sling his hook he swore, threatened me again with being cut off and kicked and punched my front door.

I could all too easily imagine a vulnerable elderly lady going along with his forceful manner because she was afraid.

My wife fainted, and was violently sick afterwards, because of the stress I believe.

    They should be strung up.

But certain members of your "profession" keep doing this and telling lies. That's why a total ban has been called for. They have had years to clean up their act. It's not happened, and so it needs to be banned.
