Why does my house use so much electricity?

£100 pm seems quite typical, in fact quite reasonable for an all electric 3 bed old house!
Also don't forget that your tumble dryer will cost 50p a go!0 -
Your bills don't sound excessive for an all electric property. Ours are about £80 a month for a three bedroom modern well insulated house with only two of us living there and no tumble dryer.
Check that you are on the right tariff and that you are using it correctly.
If you have an E7 tariff for your storage heaters make the most of it by running your immersion, tumble dryer and washing machine during E7 hours and if you can having your showers on E7 too!
Make sure you know how to run your storage heaters and are using them effectively. Leave the input set at the same level all day. Turn the output dial right down before bed and when you are out, then up when you want to warm the room.
If you are on E7 use your storage heaters in preference to the normal thermostatic ones.
The biggest thing you could do to help is insulate the property. Storage heaters are quite vulnerable to drafts. Simple things like thick curtains at the windows and draught excluders round the doors can make a difference. If you partner gets benefits he may get grants for bigger things like loft insulation, but even if not it is worth saving some money to get them done as it will save you money in the long term.
