employment terminated / SSP transitions to which benefits?

hi
my daughter was on long term sick leave from her job, for several months, the employer has decided they could not support this any more and therefore terminated her employment.

She was getting contractual sick pay and then SSP.
She will be going to CAB this week for some advice.

just wondering if anyone here can offer some advice.

she was waiting to see a psychiatrist for a while, then when it finally came, because she had moved home, the psychiatric nurse told her she could not go ahead with the consultation. So she went to her new doctor, and he said lets do a therapy session with a councellor or someone inhouse in his surgery, before a full on psychiatrist referal. She is still waiting for this. It has been at least 6 months, and no mental health help has been given by the NHS, no medication, just waiting and waiting and back and forth.

anyway, depression or any other similar diagnosis has not been noted on her medical record, only stress and muscle pains.

we are not sure what the process is now, not sure if SSP has run its course, and whether she still needs to visit doctor for sick notes or just apply for some other kind of benefit.

thankyou

She could claim ESA - has her employer given her an SSP1?

She will need 'Fit Notes' from the doctor.
  • thanks

her employer has not given her anything apart from lies and misinformation.

so will need to get a further sick "fit" note and send to job centre, for ESA?
