cat fleas

i noticed today that my 4 cats have fleas AGAIN!
the litle *******s (the fleas not the cats) are monster sized, i thought they died off in winter? is this a new 'super' flea? i used Drontal in the summer and it only worked for a few weeks, which is the best flea treatment do you think?
i thought we were going to get a bit of respite from the fleas now the cold weather has well and truly set in but it seems not,

Drontal is not a flea treatment? - its a wormer.

I use Stronghold - only available from the vet, but it works - and quickly
  • You also need to treat your home, every inch of it, with a vet recommended product, I use Indorex.

Drontal is a wormer so it's no wonder it had no effect............

My cats and dogs (and house!) have been flea free since I started using Advocat about 4 years ago. You can get it from your Vet or on-line with a script from your Vet.
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D
  • they are an all year round problem due to the central heating.

I use Advantage. Once the vet gave me another kind but it wasn't so effective so I went back to Advantage.

i have always had central heating but have still never had fleas in the winter, they must be getting more resilient
    thanks i'll try Advantage,
  • Please, please combine Advantage with a decent spray like Indorex or it could take a very long time to get the problem under control which would cause a lot of misery for your kitties.

Treat your whole home with Acclaim - expensive, but it works, I promise.

  • Both mine had them a couple of weeks agao and I have been using Effipro one month and Frontline the next. I treat them all year round but I think these were from putting the central heating on.
Anyway I comb them with one of those battery operated flea combs morning and night and I'm pleased to say they have gone, :TI know when they have gone because apart from getting nothing out of the flea comb, my son stops getting bit, not sure why he does and I don't but they make one hell of a mess with your skin.
    Hope this helps.
