winter boots for my dad

Options
I'm looking to buy my dad a pair of winter boots. Can anyone recommend a decent pair in the £25 mark ?

He uses his motorbility scooter so something that is not a short shoe boot, velcro i think would be better. Will also need a wide fitting aswell.

:D

  • There are these, but a bit more expensive than you thought:

I don't know of anywhere you will get decent quality boots for as little as £25.

Have a look at the Cotton Traders website. OH buys his boots from there and they usually have one at half price (looks half wellington and half boot)

How about Lild offer next week? £15

Not sure if it meets your needs as they are lace up, and I do not know what a short shoe boot is

  • Thanks guys for the feedback. Think the Lidl ones maybe be a little slim fitting ( think i've seen them instore before ), but i did look on the Cotton Traders. Looks like a couple of good pairs on there which would be ideal.
  • I got some for under £20 from soyoushoes. They are very good value and nice and warm and fit over any calve including wide. They were the shorter boots and the top expands. My calves are wide so I was very pleased to find them

I see the faux fur boots are now showing at full price. There was a thread on another forum here last week giving a half price code of G19S to use to get them half price. Don't know if this offer is still valid, but worth a try.
  • You might find something at Clifford James. As well as mail order they have shops at Skelmersdale in Lancs and Ripley just off the A3 in Surrey. I bought some ladies leather boots from there a few years ago which have lasted well.

If you visit the Ripley shop there's a bakery with a nice little cafe in the back of it nearby.

I had a couple of pairs of 'walking shoes' (fabric uppers and a heavy looking grippy sole) from Cotton Traders. Soles were actually soft and thin and both right shoes wore through quite quickly. Also they were narrow at the toes and not particularly comfortable. Now wearing a pair of Karrimor for outdoor use - much better.
