Advice on whether to challange PCN

Went to watch a footy match and parked on the same bit of grass as I've done a dozen or more times in the past. On this occasion I got a PCN code 01. Whether something other than CEO's level of zeal (or commission) has changed I don't know but can any well-informed moneysavers offer an opinion; do I have any chance of successfully challenging?

In fact I found this image on the 'net of the same spot with a car parked on it!

You don't say whether its a council ticket or private ticket
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Are there any signs notifying you are entering a controlled/parking prohibited zone? Basically are there any signs anywhere and what do they say? I have seen cars ticketed for this (parking on a grassed area in an area where there are double yellows etc) but I am not sure under what grounds.

I have the feeling there is some law against driving across the pavement to get to that grass verge, but that probably is not what the ticket is for. It may be helpful if you can give further info on what's on the ticket or upload a scan with personally identifiable details removed.

You would receive a better response by posting here, they have people there that will help you further, just post the above there in a new thread, and scan in your ticket front and back, but rememebr to remove personal info from it such as reg number etc

A code 01 is for parking in a prohibited street during controlled hours. In this case, parking where restricted by double yellow lines.

Remember that restrictions apply to the carriageway, pavement and verge.

Unless you can find some loophole in the ticket itself, you're bang to rights, I'm afraid.
