Burning onto a DVD

I want to back up my files, photos etc so bought a recordable DVD to do so. But when I try to copy/paste as I do with CD Roms, it doesn't work. How do I record onto DVD? I know my computer can do so.
Thanks.

Hi, yeah as the above posts both say, make sure you can see the drive in My Computer first. You should have got Nero OEM with your drive when you bought it, or equivalent CD/DVD Writing software, which will do everything.

If not, goto My Documents for example, right click My Pictures (for example), click "send to" then choose the DVD RW drive. Assuming you have Windows XP that is.
