Pink Pawed cat

We have a 7 year old multi-coloured / cross-breed / white pawed cat that came in on Friday evening with pink paws - at first, we thought that he had been in a "spray booth" - it was THAT noticeable - but looking closer - it was clearly showing through from underneath......(red "flesh" ?)
The cat didn't show any signs of distress.
This morning - the colour has almost gone...
Any suggestions as to the cause ?

my cat has pink pads and when she is really warm or hot they turn quite red, also in the past when she's been outisde when it''s really cold. but they will return to pale pink as she cools down. Cats 'sweat' through their pads i beleive as a way of controlling their temperature.

it's like our fngers going red in the cold if we don't wear gloves.
Cats don't have owners - they have staff!! :D:p

If her fur was pink its a possibility she could have been in someones house and used their pink clay litter tray? My kittencat had pinky paws for a while when I used that stuff! Otherwise if its not bothering her then she might have had hot feets from being out in the cold?

That is the weird thing - it wasn't just his pads - it was up to his "ankles"
  • We have some red hardcore exposed in our back garden, and if the dog has been there her paws (and her nose if she's been digging) are pink for a good while afterwards.
