Guys'n'gals,

something struck me earlier. Some of the HJT logs we see posted on here are massive, and I know that a lot of them are from non-techie types when they have problems. But it got me thinking....what about the more techie forum members? How do theirs shape up? So, just out of curiosity, I thought I'd ask. I'm game, is anyone else?

    Hi
You three guys above probably know exactly what each entry does, and why it's included.
    That's the clever bit. ;)

The reason for big logs is usually users that accept all the add on toolbars and the like .
Try a new program and leave the old one half un installed .Take advice and put varying security programs on . Click the button that says you computer is infected or click here to download xxx free .

Surprises me that the vast majority of users have had no training in using a computer .
IT at school must miss out the how to and concentrate on PowerPoint and Facebook .
Bit like knowing how to get from A-B but not understanding how to drive the car .

Agreed. I do however install programs into Sandboxie if I know I'll only use them once or if I just want a quick play around. Here's mine:

Surprises me that the vast majority of users have had no training in using a computer .
Some of us left school before computers were omnipresent.

I went to a 'good' Grammar school, did 'A' level maths, a 1000 pupils and our school didn't have a single computer, mind you it was the early '70s. ;)

I did a free course at the local college when I was at a career crossroads.

I didn't go near a PC for 5 yrs, then have taught myself along with help from posts on here.
IT at school must miss out the how to and concentrate on PowerPoint and Facebook .
I often hear people saying that their kids are brilliant on the PC, but I've found that, in most cases, while the depth of knowledge may be good, the spread of knowledge can be very narrow.

Remember, "In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king"
    Move along, nothing to see.
