wow freysamum - I'm showing this to my OH, he always complains about how much spare toiletry stuff I have....but even I can't compete.....
he's in shock, but did advise me that it's not a challenge0 -
freyasmum/Linzi - OMG!!
Made me chuckle. I moved house last week and have a whole holdall full of toiletries but I swear I don't buy anything but deodrant, my mum is always stocking me up when I visit. I have about 20 cans of tomato puree that OH's Mum insisted we take to our house as she never uses it.
I don't think I even have the space in my house for 192 toilet rolls!Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
I am a recovering hoarder eg decided this month that I would not shop until my cupboards were bare, so far they are pretty bare, just a couple of tins of veg soup (lunch today) a couple of tins of toms (will be used this week) and very little else, although really need to go shopping now as I have no rice, pasta, veg, stuff in the freezer, my cupboards were overflowing 6 weeks ago:o
Have given stuff away that we will never eat:rolleyes:
Why do we feel the need to hoared like we do.
My mission from now on is to do a monthly meal plan and stick to it. AND I must do it if I don't please kick me in the right direction:D

Your Challenge, if you chose to accept it, is ....:money: Shop @ Home 1st :money:Ideally, we'd have a pantry inventory to draw up the menu plan from, but hey, that isn't working for yousooooooo:
Do write up your menu plan
Do draw up your shopping list
Then, before you walk out of the door ...
.. shop from your list in your cupboards
In return, perhaps you can help some of us out ... just how are you storing all those bathroom supplies??~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*twinkles*
*holds hand up* Recovered toiletries maniac here! In the last couple of months I've been using up the numerous half empty bottles of shampoo and conditioner I've had in my bathroom forever - and if it was horrid it got binned - no more just-in-case-itis for meI've even given up my beloved Aussie 3 Minute Miracle *sobs* as it was over 4 quid a bottle and lasted me about 3 weeks!
And NOW I am moving onto my kitchen cupboards, my menu planning is getting far more *coffs* let's call it creative, shall we? I'm gonna be looking like a packet of savoury rice by the time I get through this lot - bleurgh!Comps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

I always make a list before shopping by hunting through the larder, fridge and freezer . Its amazing what you thought you needed only to find you already have it.0

I too am a hoarder - not just food/toiletries either. Red coats are in this year - that's great as I have my full length wool from the 1980s in the wardrobe (as well as my green 3/4 and blue car coats....) I also have 3 black coats (in varying states of wear) 2 macs (ditto) and a short black coat. And still I wear my poncho for nipping to the shops!!
OH is getting just as bad though - "have we got any tuna?" (now even I know we've got 5 tins on a multibuy...). As for toiletries - well, I inherited my Mum's stash as well and she passed over 10 years ago and still we are using stuff....... (mind you I did refuse to use the powdered egg i found in her pantry from the Marshall Programme in wwII!). I blame it all on the war and the harsh winter of 1947 and she's just indoctrinated me. Mind you, here's something to make you laugh. My Mum was a very keen knitter - we found aload of wool squirreled away and nobody could understand why - apart from me. OH looked at me as if I was mad when i told him the reason she had all this was because the lady in the wool shop had told her the price was going up (mid-80s) because "the Russians are buying it up and storing it".....:rotfl:
My Mum was not going to be out-hoarded by a bunch of pesky russians!!!!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
I have a lot of tinned tomatoes at the moment but I have stopped hoarding as much as I used to LOL.
I even ran out of loo roll for the first time last week, I had some blue ones for the downstairs loo so not too bad.
I blame my tendancies to hoard on my mum who was brought up in the war years when you didn't throw anything away and if there was anything available to buy you bought it (even if you would never eat it )0 -
OK, I admit I might be a bit of a hoarder. When I was tidying up the house to move out and have some building work done, I found 11 bottles of (new, unopened) deodorant bought on BOGOFsEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
