Recorded dvd on one macine does not play on the other

I recorded some dvd's on Toshiba combi recorder and tried to play it on another machine but it does not recognise the presence of any dvd, does any one know what could I be doing wrong?

might be the format of the disc check if the dvd is a + or - 1 wont play on the other. what format is the player you are trying to play it on.

Havnt finalised the disc? Wrong disc type? Compressed with the Toshiba that your other cant handle?

or maybe you need to finish it properly - on my machine you need to go through the menu options and do this (can't remember the correct term this evening sorry )

That would be 'finalising' the disc
