Chev - gentle hugs, it is hard and no words can help really but I do so know how you are feeling. I was amazed at some of the stories that I heard about my Dad from friends and family. Turns out he was quite a mischief maker in his day. I hope that those discussions with friends and family will help you through and help you to celebrate his life.
KK - Yikes I hope that you are taking heed and resting. Good that you can work from home but dont put too much pressure on yourself to keep up. You are incapacitated after all.

Pippi, what a truly wonderful thing to say. It brought a very happy tear to my eye - thank you so much. You are so lovely and thoughtful. I am a bit of a geek with quotes I am afraid but I do love it when I read something and it brings a vision of a person to my mind. That quote just screamed Pippi to me. X

    Hey chaps

Chev - had an idea - well piinched wiks idea

she did a family photo board for grannies funeral - was amazing - whole family chose photos and they were pinned up on a big board - helped celebrate her life rather than focus on the bad.

For OH's dad - he wanted to do the same and for him and his family it really helped to sort out the photos and put them up on the wall - at the wake - like at grannies it was the talk of the room, lots of remembering and lovely chatting/comments and a fair bit of chucking at all the adventures everyone had.

Really helped to lighten things a bit and remember them both in a lovely way.

No idea if this is even something you'd consider - but it was amazing! I was so chuffed that OH wanted to celebrate his dad in the same way!

    Today
    work
    dentist
    home
    flop
need do more work but am very tired!

    Hope you're all good!

Cheri - you're cherbub in the making!

LT hello hope all fine with you

Uni - glad you've popped in a bit more!

    Oh I have great excitement

The MOO MOO cow are back in the field!!! woo hoo!!!!!

Woo hoo! That really says a lot! Are the calves with them? I bet they're running around happy as Larry :)

Great idea on the pictureboard - my sister did it for her husband, she had a great deal of comfort in finding the photos and grouping them together - they were all over the living room and the stairs in the end.

Pippi, what a lovely idea. I will store that one but hopefully I wont need it for some time to come (had enough over the last 4 years). I found that the wake for all my loved ones turned into a real celebration of stories and laughter. I even discovered who was meant to be by adopted parents (long story about how I was nearly given away) at my Nana's funeral and all I can say is that somebody somewhere was looking out for me on the day they were due to take me home !!!!! Amazing what you find out at funerals.

Cows have been in the fields here for quite a few weeks now. Tis very funny when I take Moo to the other woods and they come running over to watch us over the fence. I have come to love cows since living here. I think you should blog about the cows too if you could get photos.

Have a rest tonight you deserve it.

Well, sadly the house needed razing to the ground and rebuilding and is a probate sale so will go this week or next, i.e. before my parents could get the cash together :( But, OH was lovely and looked after me as I took my painkillers and felt really spaced out and tired, so I slept on the sofa then I sloped to bed to get more comfy and he looked after DD for me when she got home from school.

How are you LT? Seeing your avatar reminds me of the cat I took pity on about 2 years ago. My stray is finally back after months of abscence, so he's enjoying sleeping in our shed, being fed chicken etc and a little tickle of the ears. He's a large black and white moggy. Had been worried about him being gone this long. I'd assumed something had happened to him or he'd found a permanent home.

Hi Unix i'm fine thanks, just another year older :(
My avatar was called Ted, or Tederico Bear, or Teddy Serious Bear. He was my mum's baby who moved in with me when i moved down here. Strangely enough he once went missing for 3 months and was found under a hedge. He certainly slept and ate a lot the first week he was back home after being found. I'm glad you're has come home safe and sound.

glad the moo cows are back Pippi, we don't get too many of them round here, mostly just piggies and chucks.

Had a lovely day today, just chilling and getting some reflexology and then we've been out for a yummy scrummy indian. We're now flupt as we say in my family.
tomorrow is the restart of the new me challenge.

    Morning all,

I have managed to fall really badly behind on here, sorry. Hope you are all doing well and Pippi, I hope the words flow smoothly today.

Just went out to hang the washing and water the strawberries and found it has rained in the night, yay!

On the downside, also found my two lovely little citrus trees (one lemon and one clementine) that I raised from pips about 5 years ago, both have really bad infestations of horrid scale insects, Grrrrrr. Not sure of the best way to get rid of them.

Hope everyone has a nice day today!
