Blacklisted house?

Hi,

My house is currently being rented out and my new tenants tried opening an account with Barclays but were rejected because my house is blacklisted...is there anything I can do?
I didn't know that this was possible as previously other people had told me they look at individual credit history and not property credit history. Thanks for your help.

Barclays don't open accounts for everyone. They are quite picky as they don't like plums (banking slang for someone whose majority of monies leave their account pretty much as soon as it goes in).

Mind you, comments are subject to contrary opinions as it's been 10 years since I worked for them and they could have changed in this time.

They need to get copies of their credt reports. The problem is with them personally, not the house.

were rejected because my house is blacklisted...
Who told them this? Not true. It is the tenants who were rejected not the property.

Tell them to check their credit record.
  • OP, maybe our tenant is trying it on with you?
  • The tenants have either misunderstood something or they are telling porkies. Either way, I would be treble-checking their credit-reports and my bank-statement for the rent-payments.

Thanks for your responses...I'm going to ring the tenants and tell them to check their own credit reports.
