authorised repairer for kia under warranty?
Hi
Bought a brand new kia last year. It is nearly due its first service. Kia website says I need to take it to a kia dealer or authorised repairer for its service, in order to maintain warranty.
How can I find it who is an authorised repairer? is it only going to be a kia garage or are independent garages ever authorised to do these services? i don't really have a clue about cars to be honest!

Better take to a Kia dealer for service. Although you can legally take it to any VAT registered garage as long as they use original parts.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

Take it to an independant, but make sure they stamp the book and get an itemised invoice showing that kia parts were fitted. If Kia is like Hyundai, they know how to charge for servicing....0

Agree with movilogo! Especially as its nearly new, find a decent Kia dealer. Their prices are pretty good and (we are on our second Kia) if they find something not quite right they can sort it out straight away under warranty no quibble, as we found out one time.
Also they will have had any factory technical bulletins, retrofits or engine software updates that were not urgent requirement but car will benefit from and they should do them automatically.
Now Honda know about charging, I think they use Channel No.9 in the screen wash!European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0 -
Kia aren't too bad for servicing iirc it's about £140-170 for Rio's normally (I think the highest was about £300 inc the timing belt), which from memory compares reasonably with the local Vauxhall price for Astras.0

Will never get why people spend 10k on a car then decide they want to pay £20 to get some back street garage to service it.0

thanks for replies everyone!
MrRedundant, I got the cheapest kia available under the scrappage scheme last year - a fair way off £10K! I wasn't looking to pay £20 for a back street garage to service it, i just didn't want the hassle of traipsing back to the dealer if I could take it somewhere nearby.
Reading these replies, I have decided to take it back to KIA however. Thanks all.0
