It could be a cold spot. I had one of those. I painted the wall with bathroom paint, it seemed to help. Also keep the room warm and don't leave laundry out to dry. Basically there ain't enough dam insulation in the wall. You get this sort of thing with old houses. You just gotta keep wiping the walla down, frankly that's all there is to it.0

Today the landlord came round with a builder, the builder seemed to know what he was on about and he was saying it was condensation & penetrating damp.
the penetrating damp has come from badly fitted gutter and pipes.
So there will be getting fixed in the next few weeks.
Glad landlord got a proper builder and not someone in to SELL damp cure.
was going to post about checking guttering and down pipes. That's the usual culprit for damp.just in case you need to know:
