Insuring 2 cars?

This is my scenario:
We have just bought a new car which now needs insuring. Previously we only had 1 car which had me as the main driver and my wife as a named driver. My wife dosent have any NCD.
We were going to put the new car in my name and again have my wife as a named driver, can this be done i.e. using my NCD twice?
The other car is used 80% for business by me and I would guess our new car is going to be used by me 75% of the time.

You can't use the same NCD twice but you can call the existing insurers, explain the scenario and see if they will allow a starter bonus on 2nd car. You will have more chance of this if both cars are restricted to both of you driving.
You might also want to consider insuring one in your wifes name so that she builds up her own bonus and will also get personal business use rather than just social domestic and pleasure (check your existing certificate to see what it says but often additional drivers only get sd&p although it may vary from company to company).
We have both of our vehicles insured with a joint Mr and Mrs X shown as the policyholder on both certificates so we both get identical driving cover on both vehicles. E.g the policyholder may also drive another car not belonging etc applies to both of us.0
