Refunding through paypal

I've had a look for this alreday and couldn't find an answer.
I sold a BNWT to a buyer who now claims it is dirty and damaged. I know that it is 100% perfect, I checked it before posting.
They opened a SNAD through paypal requesting a 50% refund, I have stated that if they return it I will refund. I don't think they will return it as I've asked for pictures of the damge 5 days ago and not had a reply, other than she works long hours.
My question is - how do I go about closing the case?
When I checked on paypal it said offer full refund or partial refund. Do I click the give a full refund button and the money is returned to the buyer straight away or is the money only returned once they have provided tracking info?
Obviosuly I don't want to refund them without them posting the item back to me.
