v mate sandisk install to sky plus box?

please help , i have sandisk video memory recorder and i want to record from sky plus . i have follow the intructions and changing av channels and not picking up any siginal from the v mate sandisk recorder? ( the v mate is on ) Has anyone install a v mate to sky plus box how did you do it i tried scart switchers please leave simply and clear instructions as it driving me mad please help thank .
