    it was really pale and went flat. not a lot of filing there at all. the pastry at the bottom was soggy. going to try again tomorrow

    How long are you whisking the sugar and evap. milk for? It needs to be done for around 15 mins - and that's in an electric mixer! Are you sure you're mixing it enough?

    used an electric mixer. the recipe said 10mins. maybe it wasnt mixed enough then
