Hi, Im going to Australia on 31st December and return on 1st March. I calculate this as 61 days inclusive.
The Halifax quote that I have covers a trip of up to 60 days - if I use these dates they will allow me to cover myself, so can I take this to mean they count this as 60 days?
If I change the return date to a day later it wont give me a quote so Im assuing this is all ok, but dont want to get it if Im not going to be covered.
Does anyone know how it is calculated?
Cheers

Counting? Yeah.
Borrow someone else's fingers and toes if you need help.0 -
1 day in December (31st)
31 days in January
28 days in February
1 day in March (1st)
I make that 61 days?0 -
Be careful on your home insurance. With most companies, you are not insured if you leave your house unoccupied for more than 60 days.0

Think of it as nights rather than days. If you travel on the 31st by the 1st you will have been travelling for one "day". Ergo 31/12/2010-1/3/2011 = 60 days
I'm guessing...0 -
Nice to have a helpful answer, thanks!
There will be someone in the house while I am away but must admit it wasnt something I had thought of.
And it would make sense that they count nights away rather than days, will get it sorted!0 -
 Have a safe trip.0
