Tax Credits - underestimated income?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any idea at what point income changes how much you recieve?
Basically, due to several changes in circumstances I spoke to Tax Credits earlier this month and explained that my partners employment had ended, and estimated that his total earnings since April 2011 was £5000. He has since recieved his P45 and it was actually £5504. Obviously I will be informing TC this tomorrow, but will it actually make a substantial difference to how much we recieve? He is also currently applying for JSA Cont Based, and as yet have recieved no notification of whether he'll get it, or how much. I assume this will also potentially affect our credit award?
And just to make things MORE complicated, I am sending off the Sure Start Mat Grant form this week after seeing the MW on Weds, as our current award status makes us eligible, but what if this changes after I speak to TC? Will they be able to let me know immediately if we are still entitled?! I don't want to be sending it off and get in trouble!
Any help massively appreciated,
Lola xx

make sure its to the penny as best you can.
also you need to tell them about jsa as this is taken into account as income.
you may lose a few pound a week but nothing major. if anything0 -
If your joint income is over £15k, it drops by 75p for every £1 so it could drop by roughly £400 or £7.69 a week.0

Youve nothing to worry about - £500 will not affect your award at all. You must make sure though that you dont tell TCO your boyf is on JSA, as he's not - contributions based doesnt count.0

Hi, and thank you all for the responses!
I was going to query the suggestion that I don't tell TCO about my partners JSA, surely that can't be right?! I'd far rather tell them and potentially lose money than keep it quiet and get done for fraud or something!
So as I understand it, we probably won't lose too much with him being on JSA? Unless he gets a job asap, he still won't earn anywhere near £15,000, probably not £10,000 for the April'10/11 year. I guess I'll just send the SSMG form in and keep my fingers crossed then!
