well aren't you a delightful and helpful soul.
I wouldn't have thought they would pay 4 weeks of housing benefit or council tax benefit, but they do. I swear I remember a friend getting her income support for an extra 4 weeks too but I didn't want to ask her.
Maybe you don't have children to worry about putting food on the table for, but I do and seeings as this is a forum for asking advice, I did, I wasn't expecting stupid and useless answers back..... but thanks for taking the time to reply anyway

income support is not JSA though
JSA = job seekers allowance, which you can not claim unless you are a job seeker, you dont have to be seeking a job to get income support, you can work and get it, so yes your friend may well have got 4 weeks extra IS but JSA no that does not carry on0 -
If he starts on the 8th he'll get paid until the 7th, so a few days extra money0

He has and I'm very proud of him

I don't see any difference between a single mum on income support going back to work than a couple with children on JSA going back to work? They all need to eat! And during the 4 week gap of having no money, there has got to be something!?
I'll phone the job centre on Monday and find out the answer to the JSA run on. But thank you to anyone who took the time to reply with advice for me.:xmastree:0 -

There is no JSA run on. Remember - you should get money up until the day you start your job. At least that's something.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

it does not run on, remember you are talking to people who have been on/are on JSA and have signed off JSA so we do know what we are talking about0 -
