EDF Account Number Query?

Please can anyone with an EDF Dual Fuel Online S@ver V7 tariff please tell me how many digits there are in an EDF account number? I've just started switching my mother onto this tariff, and need to set up an online account to manage it for her.
She has received a letter from EDF which gives no account no. but a 'contract no.' (8 digits). Is this the same thing as an account no? Or do we need to wait for a further letter?
And on top of that, the online account registration is now down for maintenance until Monday morning...

I've only got a Contract number so far. .It's an eight digit number.

The contract number is not the same. My electricity account number has 13 digits but I have tried to set up an online account and it doesn't work. As others on the forum have said it says that they are updating the sytem or something. I don't think I'm going to be able to have an online account at all which seems odd seeing as it's supposed to be an online tariff.0
