I have purchased a Cello iviewer from m and s (special offer)
The manual states I can watch/view files from my pc on a DLNA home network but does not tell me how to set this up.
Would anyone know?
thanks in advance

what OS and media player version do you have?0
-
I am using vista and windows media player- trying to find which version0
-
first you need to go to network and sharing center looks like this:
then click on customize under the internet globe and set it to 'private' if it already isnt, that should make most of the little grey lights go green (esp the media sharing one)
then follow this guide http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/08/vista-setup.html if you want select the ones you want out of video/music or pics or all of them and then the TV should pick it up (you will need media player open on the computer for it to)
if it doesnt work go into your router settings and make sure that UPnP is enabled
that should sort you.0 -

try this
http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=14&sid=d0102e6925f250fdcdb8807adc34f56e
its was originally for the PS3
but it works on the 360 and my TV which has DNLA
makes it easier to share various drives/formats0 -
everything you want on the DLNA has to be in media player to add folders to media player select 'Add to library' in the drop down pictured:
in that you select the folder you want added, and keep doing it untill all the folders are added.0 -

I added 1 folder from my hard drive to the library to see if it would play different file tyes and it did. Now do i have to add every folder or file to the libray? isnt there a way i can just access the hd on the tv?
Also thanks to the last poster who posted the other link, ill bear it in mind if windows library doesnt pan out0 -
you just have to add the 'top' folder (the one which contains all the files and folders you want added) that will add everything into media player.
eg. you might have a 'music' folder which contains 5 folders each with a number of music files in, you only need to add the 'top' 'music' folder to add all the files and folders 'below' it.0 -
thanks- i worked that out after posting.
Initially I thought I would not have been able to view this contact onscreen due to file type as media player cannot play it [picture wise] but works great on tv itself. thanks again
ps. would itunes be my main source to dl films etc
on this tv i can acess iplayer and you tube etc but thats it limited apart from the web content via pc0 -
no itunes films are DRM'd to the sky so cannot be used in media player (or outside itunes at all) (also they are pretty expensive), the only real way to get films for the computer (in the UK) is to buy a film that comes with a 'digital copy', or you can also just buy an ordinary DVD and 'rip' it to your hard drive.
unfortunately the[STRIKE] stuck in the 11th century[/STRIKE] movie studios refuse to accept the future and give the consumers an easy legal way to get digital copies of movies0
