House of Fraser gift list

The official line for HOF is: "The House of Fraser Wedding Service has been designed from the outset to put the Couple at the centre of our service.
The perfect gift selection, enjoyable shopping, and effortless experience for your guests and hassle-free delivery to your convenience... all driven by your personal wedding list Concierge."
Unfortunately it's only partly true. You won't find reviews of their list because they don't have any forums for official reviews... which is never a good sign.
I had a wonderful wedding on the 2nd of July and had my wedding list through house of fraser. It is true that they have fantastic service in their stores and do make you feel special. Unfortunately their policy regarding the gifts and their delivery is not in the customers favor.
The gifts bought by the guests are by no means guaranteed. Instead of setting aside a gift when it is purchased on the list they wait for new stock to come through... and if no new stock comes through then instead of getting the item you wanted you get a HOF gift card (which means choosing it because it has items you like may well back-fire!).
Furthermore, they quote an up to 4 week delivery time after the wedding... but put in the small print that it could take any amount of time to get the items. It's been over 6 weeks since my wedding and I was just told I'd have to wait until the end of September to get my last item (which is available on net day delivery on their online store).
So, if you are getting a wedding list (,which when you're starting out a whole new home like I was can be very helpful so that those who want to get gifts don't all ending up getting the same things,) read the small print and think about the delivery and allocation of your items if you want a stress-free time!
p.s. I am aware this could be just an unfortunate experience but if I had had a great experience I would also be letting people know!0 -

The only thing that bugged me as a guest, is that you couldn't pick something from the list and take it back with you so that you can wrap it up nicely... When you buy the item online, all the gifts get delivered to the couple in one go, which loses a bit of the gift giving experience for me.
There again it might have to do with the way the bride and groom set the list up.
I know that with Debenhams, you can get the item in the shop, they 'tick' it off the list and you take it with you on the day.
Hope it helps a bit.
That isn't an option for the Bride and Groom - We can only get it later!0 -

Maybe but it's still relevant and it's the most up to date on the topic I can find!0
