Hi, I'm awaiting a CHAPS payment to arrive into my Coventry Building Society current account. I've been checking all day it's so frustrating!! This is my wages that my company have had to pay by CHAPS because they account was not set up properly with them and the bank. Is it such a delay because I'm with a building society?
Thanks
Thanks

CHAPS is supposed to be the fast (and expensive) way of transferring money from one bank or BS to another. Have you spoken to Coventry about this? Do you know when the CHAPS payment was arranged? None of this delay was your fault by the sound of it and if you are short of funds you should make a formal complaint and get compensation.
If your company arranged this payment they must have done it through their bank. As you don't know who they are you must find out from your employer or the Coventry for more information.0 -
Did you (the sender) use the correct CHAPS account numbers as explained by Coventry?

Was the CHAPS transfer accepted by the appropriate cut-off time of the sender bank?
If it did not arrive "instantly", it will likely only be processed on the next working day. If there were no other oversights, that is.Enjoy the silence...0 -

How could he be the sender when he says "my company have had to pay by CHAPS".
It's very confusing but I suspect it has arrived by now.0
