Hi
I have googled high and low and search the MSE forums for this but can't find an answer I can understand!
I want to be able to use broadband occasionally on my iPod Touch when I'm out and about. I know I can use wifi at home and at various places in the high street - that's not what I'm looking for.
I know 3 do MiFi but tethered dongles are cheaper.
Does anyone know if you can get an adaptor to connect a mobile broadband dongle to an iPod Touch?
Cheers
Lesley

Impossible. just get a Mifi.
You could tether to your cell phone, if it has 3GHope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
Thats why Apple released the iPad 3G0

No it isn't!
She wouldn't be able to use the Ipad's 3G for her IpodHope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
Google "Apple Peel". It's a sleeve for your touch which takes a SIM for phone & 3G0

Thanks alanrowell but it looks like its only 2G so ok for calls and texts but not so good for email/internet.
Redcard - mifi is way too expensive for occasional use as the top-ups only last a month.
Cheers

Mifi is your only option other than to either use public wifi, BT Openzone hotspots or change your Touch for an iPhone. There are no ways to install drivers for a dongle.0 -

My mobile phone is a new fairly antique Nokia smartphone with WiFi, however it's S60 operating system can run Joikuspot http://www.joiku.com
So what I do when away from home is turn Joikuspot on from the mobile and connect to the the mini WiFi hotspot that it creates from my iPod Touch. Came in handy for comparing furniture products while walking around a furniture shop and for finding a nice local hotel. Batteries go fairly fast on both devices when using this arrangement, however.
Most Android phones could probably perform the same WiFi hotspot trick, only their built in browsers will be nearly as good as the iPod Touch's anyway.0
