Hi
My grandad passed away recently and while clearing out his drawers I found a DVD my auntie had made for him with pics of him and my gran from way back, my dad and his siblings as kids, all my cousins and the kids etc on. Obviously it means a lot and I would like to be able to get the pictures from the DVD however it's formatted in a vob file??
Is there anything I can download to a) play the dvd on my laptop or b) convert it to a format that will play on my laptop? Ideally I would like to be able to get the individual pictures as files but i'm guessing I may have to screen shot them rather than being able to grab the files out? Does anyone know?
Thank you x

Convert VOB to AVI is worth looking at. It's freeware and I've used it to get a video off a DVD so that I can edit it on a PC. Obviously you'll only get very low quality images off the video, but may still be nice memories.

Hi
On the DVD, is there just one VOB file?Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -

VLC Player should let you play VOB files without having to convert them.0
-
There seems to be two, but one shows the length as 0 seconds whilst the other shows it as 15 minutes.
You should be able to use 'copy' and 'paste' to copy the 15 minute VOB file onto your laptop. Put it somewhere convenient, such as on the Desktop.
Then to view the vob file use VLC media player from here:- http://www.videolan.org/Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
First of all i just want to say sorry for your loss.
Vob format is very common video file format all you need to do is pop to to google and download Vlc media player it is a free opensorce media player that can play 99% of all video formats. Its 100% free and clean ive been using Vlc for longer then i can remember. I hope this helps.0
