Tesco Clubcard Points Holiday - Travel Insurance

Options
Hi,

I have recently booked a holiday with my clubcard points and noticed that Tesco states that not many other insurers cover their points.

I got a quote from Tesco travel insurance and it costs about £50 more than the cheapest one I could find.

Has anyone found another travel insurance company who cover the points, if so who are they?

Thanks,
Vicky:)

This has been raised before by someone. The only company they found that would cover the full price of the holiday, Tesco points having been used, were Tesco. Other Insurers did not recognise the points value that had been put towards the holiday.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

Beware Tesco travel insurance if you have any PEMC's as Tesco didn't used to cover them.

I used this company last year for a holiday in Bali paid for using clubcard vouchers and they were quite happy to cover several PEMCs without expensive loading of premiums.

Do check that their T&C's haven't changed, I'm hoping not as I'm about to use them for another Tesco clubcard voucher holiday.

I think there may also be another company that covers the voucher side of things. Do a search of the whole forum for 'travel insurance tesco clubcard' and you will find lots of relevant posts.

I have also been looking and found this company that have told me that they do cover the cost of vouchers including Tesco and in the case of flights swapped for vouchers they will repay the lowest cost of an equivalent flight. I haven't found this confirmed in print!

in their telephone intro they say they are part of Columbus

Also 10% cash back if you go via Quidco.

LloydsTSB gold account travel insurance (provided by AXA) also cover Airmiles but not other vouchers.

    It's in the policy documentation:

You are covered up to the amount specified on your
policy schedule for travel and pre-booked
accommodation cancellation costs relating only to
those people specified on the insurance schedule. (If
travel arrangements were paid for by Air Miles or by any
other form of redeemable vouchers, reimbursement will
be the reinstatement of the Air Miles or redeemable
vouchers to their original account. If reinstatement is not
possible, we will reimburse the lowest advertised fare by
the airline for the flight in question). Cancellation must
be necessary and unavoidable and not as a result of
disinclination to undertake your planned trip. Cover is
only provided due to a cause listed below occurring
    during the period of insurance:

Same ownership as travelinsuranceweb and Columbus.
