I stumbled across (whilst looking for Smyths toy store as local store o/s must have gift) about 2 yrs ago in Beckton, E London (got lost) a Boots Clearance Store - they had loads of stuff going cheap incl prams (my 4 too old for that) but they had sun creams, xmas crackers, hair things, swimwear.... meant to go last year for a mooch around but no time... might try again this year but traffic can be manky aorund North Circular! Anyone else been??
I'm a regular at the clearance store, TBH it isn't as good as it used to be. The discounts aren't as much as they used to be and not as much choice of items (it maybe that it's hit and miss depending on the day you go). Also, from the beginning of December you won't get your points with purchases - shame.

  • Aw, gee, thanks Snogalicious! Apparently it was Bedlam, BlueCow1975, and reported in the papers! The best advice I could give anyone is to plan your trip well in advance. Take a trip to the store a couple of days before, and ask the friendliest SAs if there's much left. Some stores start putting the items in their designated "sale spot" a day or 2 before.

If there are any vouchers/ACM points coupons/tokens in the magazine that are applicable, put these in an envelope and keep near your purse! There's nothing more frustrating than getting home and finding you've forgotten to use a £5 voucher.

Make a list of the things you want, or the type of things that you'd like, and stick to your budget. If you plan on spending, say, £50, then don't beat yourself up if you spend £52, but think 27 times before spending £152!!!!!

    xx
