Defragmentation, scan by antivirus programs, registry cleanup...etc
  • I'd also recommend taking a look at what programs are running in the background, ctrl+alt+delete into the task manager, then go to processes, click show processes by all users and then sort the results by cpu usage or mem usage, if any are exceptionally high report back here for further info.

    Cheers

First of all could you tell me what make your Pc is and what your computer specs are?
So lets try and get your computer running a bit faster for you :)

There is lots things you can do to speed up your Pc first of all make sure your using a anti virus program because some virus's can make your computer slow down a lot also if your computer is a bit old some anti virus programs like to use alot of system resorces so i would recomend using AVG its free.

Next step is finding out what programs that are running when you boot up your computer. I use WinPatrol its a small program that lets you see what programs that are listed to boot up when you turn your pc on you can disable all the programs very easy so that will help a lot with speeding up your pc plus its free and it makes a cute little woof sound when you open it up that i like a lot :D

Next step is to Defrag your hard drives this is one of the main problems i see when friends come to me with problems, I defrag my hard drives every 2 weeks i know some people might think that is abit too much but you will be surprised how fast your drives get fragmented.

Next step is to Defrag your registry If you monitor the registry of your system using a tool, you will see that it is accessed by your Windows operating system and programs installed on it more than a hundred times every second. Therefore, if your registry is fragmented and slow in responding to requests for information, it directly affects the performance of your PC and slows it down. This is the reason why it is important for you to keep your registry free from unwanted files and defrag it regularly to speed up your PC and maintain it at its optimal performance.

Next step is to make sure your system is fully updated with all the Microsoft updates.

If your finding your computer is freezing wile playing games then you may want to take a look on your video card manufactures website to make sure your video card drivers are all up to date. (Make sure before installing the updated video card drivers you uninstall the old drivers first)

This is just some of the basic things i tell to all of my friends to do and 80% of the time all the problems are sorted out.
I hope this helps you with some of your problems if you need any more help just let me know.
P.s sorry about the bad spelling its not one of my strong points hehe :)

malwarebytes full (after updating) scan, post hijackthis log, post physical ram and peak and current commit charge from task manager/performance. Defragging, registry cleaners etc won't fix it.

replace you antivirus with avast free, reset internet explorer to defaults under tools, internet options, advanced.
