Hi, I won an auction for an xbox 360 game during the week. I sent a cheque on friday night, when I was looking at my ebay yesterday noticed that the seller is no longer registered. What should I do now? It was supposed to be a xmas pressie for my son and don't want to be left out of pocket with no game. Do I leave it and see or do I go to bank today and try and stop the cheque? The seller did have -1 feedback but this was due to a previous buyer refusing to pay because seller was not paypal registered.

Sorry, but you bid on a seller with -1 feedback *and* sent a cheque?
If you are quick and can get your cheque cancelled before it is presented then I would do that immediately, phone the bank now and make sure they confirm your instruction to cancel.
Feedback is there for a reason, I personally would not even consider a seller without a good history, I htink you've been lucky in that ebay caught him in time and you still hve a chance to stop your cheque. If the cheque had been presented you would have lost your money.

Hi, thanks for the reply soo. As I said he had -1 in feedback but this was due to someone bidding and winnig an item then wanting to pay by paypal when stated on auction that he only accepts cheque. As I saw it that was fair enough not everyone has a paypal account and everyone has to start somewhere, if no one ever bid with people with no history there would be no ebay. However, I will be speaking to the bank and get them to cancel. In all the 3yrs been on ebay never had this prob.:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11

That may have been an unfair neg, but your seller is clearly very inexperienced if they don't have any feedback. I would have avoided them.My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
