Had 2 Natwest cards in the past. Seemed pretty easy to get but I do bank with them.

I guess it all depends on the lenders criteria. I don't think there is an definitive answer.

Do you use those cards anymore? If not...and there is no money owing on them then I would say yes, cancel them. What are you looking for in a card? To shuffle debt? Cashback? o% purchases?

I'm actually looking for either cashback or something to earn points/airmiles....

I want to cancel, but I'm waiting for my HALIFAX One and HSBC to enter to my credit report, then I'll cancel. I wouldn't be needing this cards after I have HSBC and HALIFAX on my credit file.

How long have you been waiting for them to go on your file?

That reminds me......never even seen my credit file. I guess it wouldn't hurt to see whats on there!

  • Natwest don't very often reject card applications but for people with lower credit scores (dodgy history/no history or even people that never pay interest... apparently, I don't work for the CC department I don't know that but I was told that) they have a habit of giving ridiculously low limits (they offered me £400 after working for them AND banking with them for 2 years, the current account had a £1500 overdraft limit at the time)
If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

If you do like it please hit the thanks button.
