I am about to make my minimum payment (via internet banking) on my Citi Card account - if I use the details from my Citicard, will it reach my new new account with Opus, or should I try and make the payment to Opus (even though I dont know any of the details yet?
TIA

Easiest to make a payment through their site (opuscard.co.uk). I wouldn't rely on Citi passing everything through on time.0

I cant pay online as I dont have any card details to register - and I cant get through on the customer service lineMoving on up

I have the same issue and was told that I should receive an Opus statement shortly (it was time for mine to be produced anyway) and that may have the details necessary for making a payment via my online banking.
FWIW: I couldn't get through on the "normal" customer service line - kept getting disconnected. I then phoned the card activation line (change the last digit from a 4 to a 5 - I think!) and the lady I spoke to there was able to transfer me to CS without me being cut off - was only on hold for about a minute too
Will be interested to know what they say if you get through to them - good luck!My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

I have a simlar problem, but there are a few differences!
Last time citi tried to hike the interest rate I rejected the rate rise, so I now have the debt locked at the last % rate but no ability to spend etc.
When citi wrote to me they said becasue of the status of my account Opus wouldnt send me a new card, so I dont even know if I will get an account number etc? My payment date is the 10th Dec, I dont really know what to do!0 -

Exactly the same situation as me. You can phone Opus and make a payment over the telephone - they were able to tell me my account balance - they just needed my name/address/DOB. They were just not able to tell me how I could make a payment via standing order/online payment - which I thought was odd - would have thought my account number would have shown on the screen when they viewed my account...
My statement was due to be produced at the start of the week so it should hopefully arrive in the next couple of days.
Try calling Opus ASAP - don't leave it until the last minute or I'm sure that you'll get penalised even though you haven't had a statement from them - or even an account number. My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

I spoke to someone this evening - she said if I made a payment to my old Citi details it would bounce through after a couple of days but I really dont trust that. You can make a payment over the phone if not so I will do that until my new card arrives.
She also said that they have had a problem thier end with some cards not being sent out, so if you are expecting a card and havent recieved it yet you need to ring up for one.Moving on upSPC #382 ~ £40 banked

I've actually received a CITI statement after the 21st with all the old details still on it... i.e Details for Citi payments online... Citi contact details... etc etc
Anyone had a statement from OPUS yet?0 -
My experiences to date have not impressed me with either Citybank or Opus. My payment due date with City is the 28th of the month. I make a habit of paying on the 22nd so on Monday last week (the 22nd) I tried to make a payment by telephone to Citybank to be informed that the customer services were now closed.
I tried to contact Opus customer services on both of the available numbers to find they were engaged, probably due to high demand by unhappy Citybank customers. My next course of action was the Opus web site which informed me I could pay my account on-line but I had to register. I then registered and an option to pay on-line appeared so I clicked on this to be told the service was unavailable. Further trawling through the site informed me I could pay from my internet banking by setting up a payee using the following:
Sort Code 30-00-00
Account Number 00262188
Ref Number My 16 digit Opus card number
This I did and was able to make the necessary payment. Panic over! Had I not have had the time to mess around and find this out for myself, (being retired I have time on my hands),there was a serious danger of not making my payment on time.
As a follow up to this I changed the issued pin to one of my own choosing and on Sunday attempted to purchase a train ticket to be informed that the card number was not recognised. On contacting customer service, this time I got through, the operative said that as this was a new style card it takes a while for merchants to upgrade their system to recognise new cards. Brilliant. I paid with Barclaycard with whom I have had faultless service since the early days of credit cards.
Hope my info will help someone along the way.0 -

Just got home to my first statement from Opus. Got a "proper" 16 digit account number too now - but sadly as I'm not getting a new card, it doesn't look like I'll be able to register for online account access as they want the card expiry date as part of the online registration.
But, at least I have the details I require for making my monthly payments by SO.My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
