WORD Help, please..

Can anyone please, please tell me how I can remove grid lines in a word document, I have tried using the hide grid lines button/menu and they do not show when I print the page but they are visible on the screen. It is something I did when I was trying to use a grid yesterday but I do not know what I did!!!:o Now when I open a new Word document, it has grid lines?

I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

It looks just like grid paper, very small squares with a border all around the edge of the A4 paper. The little squares are about 2mm square, very small, just like grid paper.

  • Close down Word. Search for Normal.dot and rename it to Normal.old. It's usually located in \Documents and Settings\YourLoginName\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates.

Restart Word and it will create a new Normal.dot file. Note that you'll lose the grid lines as well as all customisations (styles, formatting etc) you may have established in the document template. To get these back, read Normal.dot Template—Explained
