Paint Shop Pro Help Please

Hi everyone, just wondered if some kind soul could help me out whilst im self teaching myself PSP.

What I want to do is creat some modern / arty piccies of things for myself:

I can figure out how to turn photos black and white but want to know how to make the background completely black and the portrait ive taken of a person or hand / foot etc remain black and white.

Ive tried airbrushing around the object in black, but its not very good.

Does anyone know if there is a way to do this, there must be as ive seen pics someone has done and just want to do the same!

A way you could do this is by selecting the area you want to save then using the flood tool set in a way that it doesnt care about the bounderies provided by chances in colour, you couls also set your brush to black and huge and paint the area it should leave the area that you selected earlier coloured and the other area will go black. this same method can also do selective colouring so have a look in to that, I like selective coulouring.


The problem is that allmost all tutorials are created for photoshop as psp has only reciently become anywhere near as powerfull as photoshop so finding tutorials for psp will be hard.
