I would pick the i3 everytime -
spec's can be checked here http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Toshiba_Satellite_C660-11H_-_i3-370_2.4Ghz_2GB_320GB__15.6_W_XGA_CSV_HM55_D_PSC0QE-00H00CEN/version.asp and here http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/HP_Compaq_CQ62-220SA_Windows_7_Laptop_WY950EA/version.asp#top ( i think )0 -
Thanks Gazza1964, could I ask why, and is it worth the extra money?Gone ... or have I?0

The Celeron is older technology. The i3 should run faster and cooler and generally be a better performer.
The i3 machine appears generally better spec'ed - ddr3 instead of ddr2 etc.
However - you may find it best to have a look and a feel of each - you may like / dislike keyboards or other aspects of them.
But for me, I would choose the newer tech - can you get me one for £80 by the way :rotfl:0 -
Anybody else got an opinoin....0

That makes sense - unfortunately I can't try before I buy, but I have had a Toshiba before with no probs so should be ok with it.
Thank you, I'll let you know what I decide, and if you want one you'll have to apply for Disabled Students Allowance!Gone ... or have I?0 -
aaaah - I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure out what DSA was, I was torn between Defense Systems Analysist and Department of Social Allergies...0

Agree that the i3 is simply the better spec of the two. In practice it will run much faster and cooler than the Celeron and will be better able to multi-task without causing programs to slow down etc.
Another important fact is that generally, Toshiba is a more reliable brand than HP and their Customer Support tends to be a lot better.
By the way, the C660-11H currently retails for between £400-450 so getting it for £80 is a bite-your-hand off bargain.0 -
Thanks Knarf44 ...
The Toshiba has been ordered!Gone ... or have I?0
