this isnt exactly a new thing for halifax either. you can either be on hvr001, hvr002 or hvr003
all of these are halifax variable rates. Dont think this is actually news to be honest, its not as if we increased rates for existing SVRsI am a Mortgage Adviser

Before deciding to move off the current SVR to a fixed term product this is an important consideration. As this will increase the cost of the mortgage by .49% for the remaining term of the mortgage should someone opt to return to the SVR subsequently.
Many people will overlook this fact.0 -
I've had my endowment mortgage with them for over 20 yrs and my current tracker is ending soon, I understand if I do not choose another deal my mortgage will automatically be put onto variable rate and will be 3.99% should I really be classed as a new customer?Thanx
