Need to see if I can get Hector from the library when I am back home. I have Beyond Chocolate and Running by feel with me here.

I might go to the library to see if I can find any Agatha Christie ones that I haven't read. I think I have pretty much read them all but one never knows...

  • We have a library at work, where everyne donates books that they have finished reading, for anyone to borrow. Is an amazingly eclectic selection from Mills & Boone, to David Eddings!

Just picked up a copy of Addict and am going to work my way through it. I am wondering if I going to meet myself inside the pages...

Just finished Chapter 26 of Moby !!!!!!. Unless Chapter 27 is very short and long the lines of 'Moby !!!!!! arrived. Boat sunk. All dead. The End' I will be abandoning it. I really don't care what happens to any of the weird people in it. Stuff the allegories.

'My name's GG and I'm a literary lightweight'.

Off to find some chick lit :o.

Will come back at a later date and get into Dickens :).

Well, Gallygirl I am not convinced it is about being 'heavy' ot 'lightweight'. I really don't like Moby !!!!!!. And I am embarassingly heavy weight.

:) That makes me feel better. TBH it reminded me of when I read 'We Need to Talk About Kevin' - where a mother is writing to her estranged husband about their son who shot a load of schoolkids. 1/4 the way through I wished he'd taken out the mother as well. Was on a plane and they were collecting rubbish. I dumped book in the rubbish and felt great. Life's too short to read unenjoyable books :T.

Will read library book instead & keep chick lit for next week's holiday :D. Just starting 'The Hemlock Cup: Socrates, Athens & the Search for the Good Life'. Trouble is, I know what happens in the end .

    Hi guys,

have not had much time for reading but am finishing The White Queen (Philippa Gregory) and am well advanced reading The Rules of Life by a guy whos name can't remember but has the advantage to be British (rather than American as most authors of this kind of books). When I finish reading it I could recap what the rules are about if anybody is interested (or post the name of the author so you read it for yourselves).

    Cool readings

    Hi all,

I'm just a lurker but I have read The Rules of Life and its by Richard Templar. Firewalker, what do you think of it? I read it a few years ago and enjoyed it. May consider re-visiting.

Templar - this is it. Freud would have had something to say about me forgeting this - I am really interested in the Knights Templar. Micron, the one I am reading is an updated edition - apparently he collected feedback and has revisited some of the rules. Makes sense to me so far but will have to get a bit further with it. One thing that I was thinking is that the rules of life a fairly general - there is not much about the little tricks that help one internalise the rule - it very normatively states what the rule is though.

    Shall see.
